We, at St. Joseph, Cold Spring & Paynesville Veterinary Clinic understand that sometimes you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. However, when you do not call-in advance to cancel your appointment you may be preventing another pet from getting much needed treatment.

A veterinary/client relationship is built on mutual trust and respect. As such, we strive to be on time for your scheduled appointments and ask that you give us the courtesy of a call when you are unable to keep your appointment. Below, outlines the clinics appointment policies:

Cancellation of an Appointment: In order to be respectful of the medical needs of other patients, please be courteous and call our office promptly if you are unable to show up for an appointment. If it is necessary to cancel your scheduled appointment, we ask that you call at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will allow another patient access to timely veterinary care. If you are needing to cancel an appointment after hours, please call and leave us a voicemail or email us at petrecords1722@gmail.com

Appointment No Show Policy: A “no show” is a client who misses an appointment without cancelling it. A failure to be present at the time of a scheduled appointment will be recorded in the patient’s chart as a “no show”.

  • New Client No Show: If you miss your first appointment with the clinic it will be marked in the chart as a “no show”. In the event that you call back to reschedule the missed appointment, you will be required to prepay the nonrefundable examination fee to schedule another appointment which will be put towards that visit.
  • Existing Client No Show: The first time there is a “no show”, it will get marked in the chart as an appointment “no show”. The second missed appointment will result in prepaying the nonrefundable examination fee to schedule all future appointments at the clinic, this pre-payment will be put towards that visit.

Late Arrival Policy: We make every effort to be on time for all our appointments. Unfortunately, when even one patient arrives late, it can throw off the entire schedule for that day. In addition, rushing or “squeezing in” an appointment shortchanges the patients and contributes to decreased quality of care. Therefore, a client that arrives 20 minutes late to their scheduled appointment may be asked to rescheduled. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

Surgery No-Show Policy: A surgery “no-show” is a client who misses a surgery appointment without providing 24 hours’ notice of cancellation. The fee for a missed surgery appointment is ½ the cost of surgical procedure.  The first time this occurs we will call to offer to reschedule the appointment and our missed surgery appointment fee of will be waived.   At the second missed surgical appointment, we will call you to reschedule and you be required to prepay the nonrefundable “missed appointment fee” before rescheduling your surgery. The reservation fee will be credited to the cost of the surgical procedure.   If a 3rd missed surgical appointment occurs, the client will be charged a missed appointment fee and may be discharged from the practice.
