A Brief History of Our Clinics

Established in 1951 by Dr. Stew
art Ellis, the Cold Spring Veterinary Clinic provides surgical and medical care for both small and large animals. During the past 58 years of the clinics existence, it has grown into an 11 veterinarian clinic. Currently, the clinic maintains four small animal doctors, five large animal doctors, and two mixed animal doctors. In addition, a support staff of 40 caring individuals is a part of the clinic family. Both the rural and urban greater St. Cloud area are served by the clinics.

The Cold Spring Veterinary Clinic is located on 111 S Red River Ave. and was built in 1972. The original clinic was located where the Red River Cafe stands today
. Services provided at today's locaton include: small animal surgery and a variety of other medical services which are supplemented by a host of veterinary products.

In 1985, construction of the St. Joseph Veterinary Clinic was completed. This office is located at 809 County Road 75 East. Originally, the clinic was built to meet the growing needs of small animal care. In 2000, an addition was built to the standing structure so as to provide a variety of services to our equine clientele. Today, the equine center as well as a boarding and grooming facility reside at this location.

In 1994, the Paynesville Clinic was purchased from Dr. Todd Johnson located at 303 Koronis Avenue. The bulding was renovated so as to include both small and large animal services.

In 2004, the St. Joseph Veterinary Clinic serving the needs of our small animal clientele relocated to 1722 Minnesota Street East. By relocating, this enable
d us to offer a wider range of services and surgical procedures. Our doctors and staff at each location continually strive to educate themselves so as to provide the most modern and specialized care available.
