A Brief History of Our Clinics
Established in 1951 by Dr. Stewart Ellis, the Cold Spring Veterinary
Clinic provides surgical and medical care for both small and large
animals. Over the 53 years, the clinic has grown into a
10-veterinarian clinic with a skilled support staff of 40 caring
individuals. We currently have 4 small animal doctors, 4 large
animal doctors and 2 mixed animal doctors serving the both the rural and urban greater St.
Cloud area. Our support staff includes veterinary technicians,
receptionist, practice manager, bookkeeper, and boarding and
grooming personnel.
The Cold Spring Veterinary Clinic in Cold Spring, MN currently is
located at 111 S. Red River Avenue. The building was constructed in
1972. Small animal surgery and medical services are provided here
along with large animal veterinary products. The location prior to
this one existed where the Red River Café stands today.
In 1985, construction of the St. Joseph Veterinary Clinic was
completed. It is located just East of St. Joseph at 809 County Road
75. The St. Joseph Clinic was built to meet the growing needs of
small animal care. Small animal surgery and medical care are
provided at this location. Large animal veterinary products are also
located at this facility. The St. Joseph Clinic also provides
convenient location for small animal clients.
In 1994, the Paynesville Clinic was purchased from Dr. Todd Johnson.
A renovation of the building was completed and both small and large
animal services were provided at this location as well.
In 2000, an addition to the St. Joseph Veterinary Clinic was
completed. The addition contains equine surgery and treatment
facilities, boarding and grooming areas, and client education areas.
In 2004 the
St. Joseph small animal Veterinary Clinic had relocated to 1722
Minnesota Street, (the old Tom Thumb Building). This
relocation allowed us to expand our St. Joseph Boarding and Grooming
Facility at 809 County Rd. 75, and offer a wider range of services
to meet our clients needs.
